Human Viewport & Interaction Cost

Evaluate a workflow one visible screen, pointer action, and keystroke at a time.

The research question

Can a person complete the task using only the information visible in the current viewport?

Inside the work

The method replays a workflow as a physical sequence: discover a control, move the pointer, select, type, inspect the result, and recover from a mistake. Reading the whole DOM or jumping to a hidden control cannot establish discoverability. This portfolio's review applies the same rule to desktop and phone screens.

What this brief establishes

This is an overview of the program and its place in the research library. It is not a full paper, a dataset, or evidence of a measured outcome. Where a related project has a tested result or an open limitation, its project page names that boundary.
