SCANGATE Download Safety

A staged intake gate for untrusted downloads, archives, dependency artifacts, and risky source material.

The research question

Where must the trust boundary sit if reading an outside instruction can already influence an agent?

Inside the work

SCANGATE puts sealed intake before ordinary model access. Screening, isolated review, adoption, and execution remain distinct states, and important dispositions bind to exact artifact hashes. Bounded streaming and memory telemetry support large-file handling without treating larger memory limits as a substitute for a controlled process.

A staged intake system for examining outside artifacts before agents can read them. The SCANGATE project offers a concrete way into this field of research.

What this brief establishes

This is an overview of the program and its place in the research library. It is not a full paper, a dataset, or evidence of a measured outcome. Where a related project has a tested result or an open limitation, its project page names that boundary.
